The Global Explorer fare lets you travel up to 39,000 miles around the world, choosing up to 15 stopovers from 600 destinations through the combined resources and route networks of Qantas, British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, Finnair, Gulf Air, Iberia Airlines, Jalways, Japan Airlines, Japan Asia Airways, LAN, or Malev Hungarian Airlines.
The fare you pay is based on date of your first flight between regions, class you fly,^ and the total mileage of your journey. Children 2 to 11 years of age may be eligible to travel at 75% of the applicable fare; infants without a seat may be eligible to travel at 10% of the applicable fare.*

Tiers
Tier 1 - For journeys of up to 26,000 miles (eg.
Tier 2 - For journeys of up to 29,000 miles (eg. Melbourne to Hong Kong to Tokyo to London to Paris to Dallas to Chicago to Los Angeles to Auckland to Melbourne.)
Tier 3 - For journeys of up to 34,000 miles* (eg. Brisbane to Sydney to Johannesburg to London to Helsinki to New York to Miami to Buenos Aires to Santiago to Papeete to Auckland to Sydney to Brisbane.)
Tier 4 - For journeys of up to 39,000 miles (eg. Sydney to Johannesburg to Cape Town to London to Frankfurt to London to Rio de Janeiro to Santiago to Los Angeles to Nadi to Brisbane to Cairns to Ayers Rock to Sydney)
* First and Business Class has a maximum permitted mileage of up to 34,000 miles.
Note: Surface sectors are permitted at your own expense, provided such sectors are included in the total mileage calculation. This means if your departure city is different from your arrival city, the mileage between these two cities is included as part of your total mileage. For example, if you fly from Sydney to Los Angeles, take a coach tour from Los Angeles to New York, then fly from New York to London. The mileage between Los Angeles to New York is also included as part of your total mileage.
Fare Rules

The date of the first flight between regions determines the seasonal fare to be charged.

Travel must be via a point in the USA/Canada/Central America/South America and a point in Europe/Africa and a point in Asia/South West Pacific, with no backtracking between regions.# (Backtracking between regions means you cannot return to the same region previously visited).

Permitted stopovers^^:
- 26,000 miles - minimum 3, maximum 5 stopovers with no more than 2 stopovers in any one region*
- 29,000 miles - minimum 3, maximum 10 stopovers with no more than 3 stopovers in any one region*
- 34,000 miles - minimum 3, maximum 15 stopovers with no more than 4 stopovers in any one region*
- 39,000 miles - minimum 3, maximum 15 stopovers with no more than 4 stopovers in any one region*

A maximum of 20 flight segments are permitted for the entire journey. A flight segment is where a passenger boards one point and departs another point.

Your Global Explorer trip can be as short as 10 days (excluding the date of departure) or as long as one year.^

The fare is valid on the services operated by Qantas, British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific,+ Aer Lingus, Air Pacific,~ Finnair, Gulf Air, Iberia Airlines, Jalways, Japan Airlines, Japan Asia Airways, LAN, or Malev Hungarian Airlines. Travel is also permitted on affiliate airlines listed below.

You must nominate the destinations you wish to travel to at the time you purchase your fare. However, you can leave your second and subsequent flights open-dated so you can schedule your trip as you go along.

A charge may be payable for changes to a booking. If the change requires your ticket to be re-issued this may take up to 24 hours.

If you are a member of a oneworld airline's frequent flyer program, you will earn miles/points* on eligible flights. You will also enjoy all the privileges to which your membership status entitles you.
* Check with your frequent flyer program for details. Each oneworld alliance airline reserves the right to change its frequent flyer program rules, regulations, travel awards and special offers, and to end its frequent flyer program in accordance with its relevant frequent flyer program rules. Mileage and tier points can only be accrued from eligible fares in the cabin flown.
Fares
The fare you pay is based on the number of oneworld continental zones you visit or pass through (including your continent of origin), and the class you fly in.# Children 2 to 11 years of age may be eligible to travel at 75% of the applicable fare; infants without a seat may be eligible to travel at 10% of the applicable fare.*
# If an aircraft serving part of your itinerary doesn't have a first or business cabin, customers will be booked into a lower class cabin. Mileage and tier points can only be accrued from eligible fares in the cabin flown.
* If an infant turns 2 years of age after travel has commenced but before travel is complete, a full child fare ticket msut be purchased for the entire journey.

oneworld continental zones are defined as:
- Europe and the Middle East (including Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia)
- Africa (excluding Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia)
- Asia (including the Indian Subcontinent)
- South West Pacific (including Australia, New Zealand)
- North America (including Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Panama)

Fare Rules
- The date of the first intercontinental flight determines the seasonal fare to be charged.
- Travel between continents must be in a continuous forward direction either westward or eastward except that you are free to roam locally at will within a continental zone.
- You may take 2 stopovers# in total within your continent of origin in order to get to or from a gateway to commence or return from your international travel, subject to the Flight Limitations set out below. A stopover is where your onward travel does not take place within 24 hours.
- Travel to Europe from the South West Pacific, Africa or South America is considered as travelling through 4 continents.
- After departing from your continent of origin, you are allowed 4 flight segments (6 in North America) within each continental zone. Additional flight segments may be purchased at an additional charge. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 20 flight segments are permitted for the entire journey. A flight segment is where a passenger boards one point and departs another point on the same flight number.
- Your oneworld Explorer trip can be as short as 10 days (excluding the date of departure) or as long as one year.^
- Travel is permitted on the services of Qantas, British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific,+ Finair, Iberia, Air Lingus, LanChile and Lan Peru. Travel is also permitted on a oneworld member airline affiliate.

British Airways
- For an additional charge, oneworld Explorer travel can be booked in World Traveller Plus, British Airways premium economy cabin.
Flight Limitations
- Within Australia only one non stop flight is permitted between Perth and Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne or Sydney; or between Darwin and Melbourne or Sydney; or between Broome and Melbourne or Sydney. This restriction does not apply for passengers originating their travel in Perth or New Zealand when travelling to/from Africa on the Melbourne or Sydney to Perth direct flights.
- No more than two flight segments are permitted between the United Kingdom and the following: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Funchal, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Ukraine, Yugoslavia and the Middle East.
- Within North America, only one transcontinental flight segment is allowed between selected cities on the east and west coast.
- Transoceanic surface sectors are not permitted. Exception: For travel originating in South West Pacific, one transoceanic surface sector is permitted. An example of a transoceanic surface sector is when you do a cruise in place of a flight at your own expense.
# No stopover permitted in Hong Kong if travel is via Hong Kong to Rome on QF 3860/3861.
^ Except if originating from South West Pacific or Hong Kong where, if in first and business class, there is no minimum stay.
+ Travel is not permitted on Cathay Pacific flights between Hong Kong and Hanoi.
